Meet Unicorn & Lion aka the Patron Saints of Unworkable Deals

Allow us to introduce ourselves! We are Unicorn & Lion—a one-of-a-kind business management consultancy for new economy industries. We help early, mid-stage, and Fortune 500 companies solve their most complicated business challenges so they can do good in and for the world. Our core services include consulting and advising, due diligence, capital raising support, and interim executive management. 

You might be wondering how Unicorn & Lion came to be. It’s been a long time in the making. We (Terry and Ali) have worked together on and off for more than a decade. In that time, we’ve tackled everything from a billion-dollar M&A transaction in the financial industry to the launch and growth of an advanced photonics venture to integration support for a multi-platform AI predictive transformation company.

Not long after initially meeting, we began to see what we could accomplish together and our paths began crossing as much by intention as by chance. Once we truly discovered the exponential impact we could have as a team, we took every opportunity to collaborate. Unicorn & Lion represents our combined potential and shared desire to help improve the human condition.

While our story began long ago, Unicorn & Lion is a new chapter in our book. A chapter that came to be over a couple of glasses of gin and a lofty conversation at the Slug & Lettuce pub in Oxford, UK. We decided then and there to officially team up to pursue our aspirations of changing the world. The name Unicorn & Lion is an homage to our strengths, individuality, and might, not to mention the place where we decided to formally unite.

We have more than 50 years of combined managerial experience and operate on a Principal/CoS (Chief of Staff) advisory model. Having formerly worked for global powerhouses including Bear Stearns, McKinsey & Company, Russell Investments, Lehman Brothers, and Nordstrom, we bring diverse and deep expertise to our clients. Our roles have spanned Board Governance, Executive Management, Line Management, and Portfolio, Program, and Project Management. Between the two of us, we’ve worn just about every hat there is.
